Waxing FAQ
Before your waxing appointment please be sure hair is at least 1/4in long. (Think a long grain of rice!) a little longer is even better! Exfoliate the areas to be waxed the morning of your appointment. Come to your appointment showered and without any lotions, oils, makeup, perfume, etc on. In the case of a Brazilian wax, bring cotton underwear to wear home because it is the least irritating and is soft on your sensitive skin. Please do not tan, have sex, get in a sauna or hot tub, or workout 24 hours post wax. This will ensure no bacteria get into your open pores and give you a rash/contact dermatitis. If you get welts (while usually uncommon) this is most likely NOT an allergy but just your body having a histamine reaction to your hair being ripped out. This is more common the first time you wax. Taking Benadryl and applying a cool compress to the area will help this subside quickly.
